CITIZENS' ACTION COMMITTEE

The Citizen's Action Committee was created as a direct result of Motiva's efforts to be a good corporate citizen in the community.  After several town hall meetings with citizens, Motiva invited local concerned citizens who were interested in helping address the issues and concerns in the community to form a group. These efforts lead to the development of the committee which addresses those concerns (health, jobs, education, environment and children/adolescent issues).

The committee represents a very diverse group of the community, ranging from housewife to clinical psychologist, including teachers, principals, social workers, city representatives, business owners and retirees.  One of the goals of the CAC is to begin operating as a Non Profit Organization and consultants are currently working with the CAC to assist in this process.  The opening of the Motiva Youth Training Academy was also a goal of the CAC which has been reached.

The committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 at Academy.  All concerned citizens are invited to join.
